Barbara Le Blanc, née Sanderson, was born in Roxby, North Lincolnshire in November 1941. She spent her early life in the village and returned in 1965 to 19 North Street where she lived for most of her life.
In her latter years she ran the village art group in addition to running the Local Artist web site from 2004 onwards, which encouraged artists from all over the world to showcase their art.
She was a prolific painter who experimented with a wide spectrum of media and styles.
