Based in South-west London, I graduated with a Fine arts Degree from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. I have been drawing on and off for a number of years and I have recently focused on pencil drawings of cats, often my own pets.
I undertook quite a bit of observational drawing at school, life drawing at the 6th form college (and started art history which is still very important to me to this day). I was community artist (at Spilsby Lincolnshire for Lincolnshire and Humberside arts). I went into teaching Design and Technology in London and ended up as a Head of Department. I am now looking to work part time to give more time to drawing and music.
My feline drawings concentrate on ensuring that the subjects have “cattitude”.
I like to draw in coloured pencil no bigger than A5. I have got quite interested in Islamic art having seen a few recent exhibitions.
Although my work does not reflect this style I am very interested in what could be achieved on a small scale.
I have exhibited recently: The Hague in 2007 and Tallinn Winter Exhibition 2008
