PhotoBarbara began painting on a regular basis in 1993 when she retired from the Civil Service. From birth she has demonstrated the talent that has now developed. Daytime classes helped to refresh the training that had originally taken her to G.C.E. level enabling the creation of many contacts with fellow budding artists, most of which continue today. Studying The History of Art with the University of Hull deepened her love of painting and gave new depth to her work. During that time she has exhibited locally at various venues including Annual One-Woman Shows at the local village hall and the Millennium celebrations, Burton-in-Bloom and Winterton Arts Festival.

Specialising in Watercolour House and Garden Portraits, her work varies widely across the spectrum. Her local views have become sought after, particularly watercolour depictions of street scenes and the village church. Commissions are undertaken in a variety of media and Barbara may be contacted via this website at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Her participation in the localartist website is inspired by a desire to encourage other amateur artists to keep expressing themselves in their particular field. Those who have difficulty finding exhibition space or, perhaps, feel discouraged by their own abilities now have a virtual gallery facility.
